A real juried art show — without hanging a single piece
Photograph what is on the drying rack, or upload files straight out of the lab. Every piece is scored against an art rubric with a written rationale, you verify the ranking, and every artist gets a certificate.
No credit card • 30 students • 2 free contests every month
1st place · Dylan F.See the full results →Instead of
- being asked to judge students you see every day
- an outside juror who falls through in March
- ceramics and digital pieces ranked against each other
You can have
- a rubric standing between you and the ranking
- scoring that does not depend on anyone else's calendar
- media-aware divisions, so like is judged against like
How it works with MeritBoard
- 1
Pick physical art or digital art
Each type carries its own rubric. Add custom criteria if your unit was about one specific thing — value, negative space, colour theory.
- 2
Photograph it or upload it
A phone photo of a drawing on the rack is enough. Digital files upload directly. Students can submit by link with no account.
- 3
The computer scores and writes the reasoning
Technique and craft, originality, composition, expressive power — with a short paragraph for each piece explaining the score.
- 4
You verify and publish the show
Reorder anything you disagree with, then Confirm & Publish. You get a public results page, certificates, and share cards.
Before you start
Can a computer really score art?
It does the first pass, consistently, against the same four criteria for every piece — which is more than a rushed human juror does at 9pm. You read the reasoning and you make the final call.
Is student artwork used to train AI models?
Never. Images are sent to our providers only to score that contest and are never used to train or improve any model.
What about students whose families do not want them online?
Results start private. Public pages show a first name and last initial or a screen name, and any student can be excluded from public display entirely.
Do I have to pay to run the spring show?
The free plan covers 30 students and two contests a month. Bigger rosters move to Pro at $12/mo; whole schools have seat-banded plans.
