Your quiz team’s new season: a real contest every week
Five questions. The same paper and the same clock for every entrant in a division. Proctored with a join code, scored the moment you click Score, podium on the projector before the bell.
No credit card • 30 students • 2 free contests every month
Instead of
- monthly meets with unscored practice in between
- writing the packet, running the clock and grading it by hand
- the same three students winning every mixed-grade room
You can have
- every practice scored and counted
- a packet that scores itself
- grade divisions, so younger players can place
How it works with MeritBoard
- 1
Create a Question contest and pick your divisions
One division means one form and one podium for the room. Grade divisions mean one form per grade, each with its own podium.
- 2
Students join with a code
No student accounts. Optional strict PIN. One sitting per student per contest — five minutes on the clock, with a short grace window.
- 3
Click Score and the podium appears
Responses are scored on the spot. Integrity flags surface to you before anything publishes, with one-click invalidate.
- 4
Verify and project the result
Confirm & Publish, then put the results page on the board. Certificates and share cards come with it.
Before you start
Does a contest sitting change my students’ MeritScores?
No. Contest sittings never create or move a published ability estimate or MeritScore. A bad Thursday under adrenaline cannot follow a student.
How do I know everyone got a fair paper?
Every entrant in a division sits the identical five questions, drawn across subjects and matched to the division’s grade, under the identical clock. That is the design, not a setting.
Can students take it unproctored from home?
Not for ranked play. Ranked entry requires your join code and a proctored sitting.
What does it cost to run weekly?
Question contests are the cheapest type to score. The free plan covers two contests a month; Pro is $12/mo for weekly cadence and a bigger roster.
