The entire contest in Spanish — not just the buttons
Switch the language once and it follows through: the teacher interface, the scoring feedback written back to students, the award pages, and the emails to families who haven’t chosen a language of their own. Bilingual and dual-language classrooms can run either side at will.
No credit card • 30 students • 2 free contests every month
Instead of
- a tool that translates the menu and stops
- an award page the family cannot read
- running two systems for one dual-language classroom
You can have
- Spanish from setup to award page, feedback included
- award pages families can actually read
- one classroom and one system, in either language
How it works with MeritBoard
- 1
Set your account language to Español
One toggle in the footer or your account settings. The interface, your contest pages and family emails follow; a family that chose its own language gets that one.
- 2
Run any contest type
Poetry, art, photography, and creative and persuasive writing run in Spanish, start to finish. Speech runs in Spanish too, though for now the scoring counts only English filler words. Question Contests use the Spanish interface, but the questions themselves are in English for now.
- 3
The computer writes feedback in Spanish
Because your account is set to Spanish, the rationale you read for each entry is written in natural Spanish.
- 4
Award pages go out in Spanish
So do family emails, unless a family chose its own language. What reaches the refrigerator door is in the language the family reads.
Before you start
Is this machine-translated?
The interface is a maintained Spanish dictionary, not a live translation layer, and student feedback is written in Spanish rather than translated after the fact.
Can my class switch back to English?
Anytime, per account. Dual-language classrooms flip between them without losing rosters, contests, or results.
Is student work used to train AI models?
Never. Entries are sent to our providers only to score that contest and are never used to train or improve any model.
What does it cost?
The free plan covers 30 students and two contests a month, in either language.
